Knots of Creation

We felt that the time had come to start a new creation. We premiered Restlesslegs in 2020, I had an almost solo creation during my pregnancy called Bab(a) and we created the format of cirQular Project in 2021 during covid. Since then we were mainly occupied with trying to kickstart our new collective OneTwoMany. We were itching to find something: a topic, a theme, something we love, we hate, we want, we missed, something that bugs us, that makes our blood rush.

After a couple of unfruitful brainstorming sessions, we let it be for a while.

But then it came: an application for new circus creation or any project around that. So during a flight from somewhere to god knows where I wrote a project: “Knots of Creation''. It was meant to be a research on the first steps of creating a new performance. I applied for funding to organise roundtable discussions, work in progress presentations and also to write this blog. And guess what, I got it.

Another dream I have been nurturing for many years, was that I would love to apply to Circus Next. Of course, not just apply, but to be chosen with a project, make it at least through the regional selection. Living in Hungary, where there is very little contemporary circus, this seemed like a way to put my foot into the door of the international scene.

Well, here we are in the beginning of 2023. Our daughter will soon start nursery, I will regain some of my freedom and I am itching to put my creative energies into a project I truly believe in.  Let’s see what the future will bring.
