Proper Mess

Proper Mess is a playful exploration of the relationship between familiar opposites, brought to life by Mr Proper and Miss Mess

While he is setting up, putting everything in perfect order, aligning props with a ruler and cleaning the street, she shows up late and unprepared. At first glance, it seems like their pairing should just lead to conflict and chaos, but they know each other and celebrate each others idiosyncrasies.

She can barely control her excitement, he tries to keep them grounded, together they move, play and create with surprising grace, always trying to find a balance between chaos and order.

During the show, the two build up a five metre high aerial tripod and showcase a variety of skills, including jumping rope, hula hoop, partner-poi as well as fire aerial-hoop. Both the artists have extensive experience as fire performers but have specialised in aerial and partner acrobatics. The duo is known for exploring new ways of combining dynamic partner acrobatics and staff manipulation.

The result is a very entertaining show that has no shortage of technique but is moved along by humour and most of all playfulness.
